BROOKFIELD, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Fiserv,
Inc. (NASDAQ: FISV), a leading global provider of financial services
technology solutions, announced today that it has been named to the 2016
Newsweek Green Rankings. Created in partnership with Corporate
Knights and HIP Investor, the Newsweek Green Rankings are one of the
world's foremost assessments of corporate environmental performance and
include the 500 largest publicly traded companies in the United States
and worldwide.
"We're honored to be recognized for environmental stewardship," said
Jeffery Yabuki, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fiserv.
"Through our leadership in the digital transformation of financial
services, we are committed to enabling our clients worldwide to serve
customers through digital banking and payment experiences that enable
ease, speed and convenience, while reducing the need for paper-based
financial services."
Fiserv is leading the digital transformation of the financial services
industry, driving innovations that enable millions of consumers to move
and manage money electronically. Solutions such as electronic billing
and payment, online and mobile banking, remote image capture, electronic
document management, e-statements and many others enable financial
institutions to more efficiently serve customers and move away from
paper-centric processes. Fiserv managed more than 26 billion digital
payment transactions during 2015.
Being "green" does not stop with the company's digitization of financial
services. For example, going green was top of mind for Fiserv when the
company moved six Atlanta-area operations to a single campus in
Alpharetta, Georgia, last year. The company elected to refurbish an
existing building, upgrading its systems to include an intelligent
energy management system, energy-efficient lighting, furnishings from
recycled materials, and an array of solar panels that supplements the
building's energy supply.
"In the current global business and political climate, no company can
continue to ignore its environmental footprint and there's good
news: Newsweek's 2016 Green Rankings show that the world's biggest
companies are improving when it comes to energy productivity and in
limiting greenhouse gas emissions," said Elijah Wolfson, Senior Editor
for Newsweek. "Our hope is that the rankings will propel leaders to
start looking at their environmental impact not just in terms of carbon
use, but comprehensively, and make the changes necessary to sustain both
business growth and environmental viability."
In a world that is moving faster than ever before, Fiserv helps clients
deliver solutions that are in step with the pace of people's lives —
financial services @ the speed of life. Learn more at TheSpeedofLife.com.
