BROOKFIELD, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Fiserv,
Inc. (NASDAQ: FISV), a leading global provider of financial services
technology solutions, announced today that, in addition to its annual
holiday giving, Fiserv offices across the globe came together to donate
over 16,000 pounds of food to Feeding
America and the Global
FoodBanking Network, which partner directly with local community
food banks. The drive was held during a two-week period in November at
over 36 office locations, including seven international sites.
During November, Fiserv associates also raised over $76,000 to help the
Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the U.S. begin to rebuild after
the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Fiserv matched associate
contributions dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000, which resulted in more
than $126,000 going to the Red
Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
In addition, Fiserv associates nationwide collected toys for the annual
December Toys
for Tots toy drive at Fiserv. The U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots is
a national, nonprofit program that collects new, unwrapped toys and
distributes these toys as Christmas gifts to local, needy children.
"The dedication of Fiserv associates is what makes these programs
successful," said Brenda Potter, vice president, Public Affairs. "With
volunteer and giving activities, we are able to make a difference in the
local communities where our associates live and work."
Fiserv will also make year-end donations to CARE
International and Feeding America on behalf of associates and
company clients. CARE is the leading humanitarian organization fighting
global poverty and Feeding America is the nation's leading domestic
hunger-relief charity.
Fiserv has more than 20,000 associates working in more than 150
locations around the world, and its core values are demonstrated by
supporting the communities in which its associates live and work, with a
focus on youth service organizations and providing assistance in the
areas of health and wellness, education and financial literacy. These
contributions include both monetary support and the organization of
volunteer efforts.
